Sound familiar?

Fit for everyday life isn't the same as ready for a trek.

  • “Will I keep up on the climbs?”

Hours of steady uphill, often at altitude, is a different job from a gym class or a flat weekend walk.

  • “Will my knees cope on the way down?”

Long descents load your legs on every step. It's where most trekkers feel it, and it's very trainable.

  • “Can I do it again tomorrow?”

Day after day with a pack on is what catches people out. Your training should rehearse it.

How it works

From free call to trek-ready.

  1. Book your free call

30 minutes by phone or Google Meet. You'll leave with the two things I'd focus on first, whether or not you join.

  2. Get your Trek Blueprint

We assess your fitness and your trek, then I build your roadmap and first training block in FITR.

  3. Train, check in, adjust

You train in the app and check in each week. I adjust the next week, and every four weeks you'll see what's changed.

Questions

How much does coaching cost?

I'd rather understand your trek, your timeline and what you need before we talk money, so we cover the investment on the free call. You'll get a clear monthly price and the terms in writing before you decide, with no obligation to join, and the 14-day guarantee once you start.

I'm over 50 and not very fit. Is this for me?

Very possibly. Age on its own isn't the issue, and I've coached plenty of people in their 50s, 60s and beyond. We start where you are and build gradually. If you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, a joint replacement or recent surgery, check with your GP or treating clinician first and we'll build around their advice. If you'd rather follow a plan on your own, Trek Ready may suit you better.

I don't live near mountains and my job is busy. Will it work?

Most people don't live near mountains. Stairs, an incline treadmill, step-ups with a pack and whatever hills you can reach all work. Your plan fits the days you actually have, and it changes when work or travel gets in the way. Missed sessions just mean next week gets adjusted.

How much contact will I get?

A coaching review every week in FITR, plus private messaging Monday to Friday with a target reply within one New Zealand business day. It isn't a 24/7 service. Calls can be arranged where they'd genuinely help, and we'll agree that on your free call.

How far before my trek should I start?

Three to six months gives useful preparation time, and twelve weeks or more works best. If you're closer than that, book a call anyway and I'll tell you honestly what's realistic.

Coaching supports your physical preparation. It isn't medical advice and doesn't replace a guide, a sensible itinerary or a check-up with your GP. If you have a health condition, recent surgery or new or worsening symptoms, get advice from your treating clinician first.
